SMSafe specifically addresses Short Message Service (SMS) traffic. The growth in SMS traffic has brought new threats to the network, similar to those already well-known within the Internet community. Flooding attacks, as well as unwanted and illegal traffic, - can jeopardize the network and individual subscribers.

SMSafe counters these threats by providing the mobile network operator with an additional security layer on top of its existing SMS infrastructure. This security program identifies potential threats, and prevents unwanted traffic from passing through the network.

SMSafe may be configured against any possible existing and future threats via the use of security policies, a technology similar to the one widely used in Internet products. These policies are applied to the entire network, and can also be applied - to sub-groups, such as corporate and enterprise subscriber.

SMSafe has introduced a new concept in Selective Class of Service (SCoS). This value-added service allows mobile operator to enhance their subscriber service package, by enabling subscribers to determine their own security and bandwidth needs.

SMSafe can be used independently, or in an integrated mode with equipment such as SMSC, via the SMSafe tm SMSEC open interface. The SMSEC interface is simple, and built around a single API for easy development.
WhiteCell welcomes any vendor to use SMSEC for interfacing, or even integrating, SMSafe capabilities within its own products.

One of the disturbing side effects of the WAP infrastructure is the fact that your proprietary management and billing IP network now becomes the information superhighway of corporates and Web surfers. This is even more worrying when coupled with the expanding capabilities of open handsets. The anarchy experienced in the early days of the Internet seems set to come to the WAP environment ( Denial of Service attacks, viruses, inappropriate content, etc.). Mobile operators, along with their corporate and private subscribers, are becoming exposed to an increasing number of harmful traffic types.

Moreover, identification of past, existing or potential security breaches is highlighted via use of specific reports; revealing information about parties involved and the nature of the breach.

As an optional service WhiteCell's professional team will perform a comprehensive analysis of the operator's network and generate a detailed report of traffic patterns and integrity, and will devise security policies to prevent future threats. Cellf-Support service provides comprehensive support for the entire range of WhiteCell products and services.
